Duodenal acidification stimulates gastric H2S release through upregulating mRNA expression of cystathionine gamma lyase
Introduction: It has been reported the alkaline response of pancreas to duodenal acidification is partly mediated through duodenal release of H2S, but till now the effect of duodenal acidification on gastric H2S release has not been investigated. Therefore, the present study designed to evaluate the effects of duodenal acidification on gastric H2S release and level of mRNA expression of cys...
متن کاملImmobilization of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cystathionine gamma-lyase and application of the product to cystathionine synthesis.
Cystathionine gamma-lyase of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was immobilized to aminohexyl-Sepharose through the cofactor pyridoxal 5'-phosphate and was characterized with respect to its cystathionine gamma-synthase activity. The immobilized product was so stable that it repeatedly catalyzed as many as five cycles of the reaction without losing activity.

متن کاملErastin sensitizes glioblastoma cells to temozolomide by restraining xCT and cystathionine-γ-lyase function.
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most common encephalic malignant tumors. Due to a high recurrence rate and a lack of effective treatments, the average survival rate remains low. Temozolomide (TMZ), a class of alkylating agent, is widely used as a first-line therapeutic drug during the adjuvant treatment for GBM patients. However, most patients exhibit a palpable resistance to TMZ tr...
متن کامل3-Mercaptopyruvate Sulfurtransferase, Not Cystathionine β-Synthase Nor Cystathionine γ-Lyase, Mediates Hypoxia-Induced Migration of Vascular Endothelial Cells
Hypoxia-induced angiogenesis is a common phenomenon in many physiological and patho-physiological processes. However, the potential differential roles of three hydrogen sulfide producing systems cystathionine γ-lyase (CSE)/H2S, cystathionine β-synthase (CBS)/H2S, and 3-mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase (MPST)/H2S in hypoxia-induced angiogenesis are still unknown. We found that minor hypoxia (1...
